Hook where the factory sending unit goes IMO . That's we're I had mine. Get a 100 psi gauge. Mine cold was about 70 to 80 and after it got hot was around 25 to 30 at idle.

Mechanical or electric... Or does it matter. All my isspros are electric.

Yes. Go Into the factory location. Just remove the old and install the new.

You want electric. If the mechanical (means you have oil in a tube that you have to feed into the cab) even cracked, you would not only have oil everywhere, but I you did not know it on a long drive you could use up your engine oil!!!!

And good choice on a quality gauge brand. :)

Edit: was just reading and noticed I was thinking of the gauge brand from the last thread I was reading!!

No, don't go generic!! Go isspro, autometer, etc. don't risk a faulty reading off a cheap gauge then fry your engine. I see bgilbert won't agree with this but.....;)

I always use the 1/8npt port Cummins gave us to check/monitor oil fuel pressure at the oil filter mount. You can go electric or mechanical at that point. With the mechanical gauge, use copper tubing if it makes you feel safer. Even though the factory gauges are worthless, I still like them to work. Something doesn't look right with a dead OEM gauge IMO. Also I prefer Isspro for the boost and pyro, but el cheapo for oil pressure. In my experience oil pressure gauges tend to crap out or have issues over time. So you won't feel bad if you have to replace an el cheapo gauge.

I'm gonna have to get me some. I like blue but all my vatopeters are red. Plus red is a little easier on the eyes at night
