I was really tired last night, so that was the Cliff's Notes
Now for the whole story. My friend Austin secured a genuine (and safe
) transmission jack. We found a few junk U-joints while pulling the drive shafts. Shocker. The cross member was sort of a PITA. The plastic slip coupler for the hydraulic line broke and we only discovered this once everything was put back together
Hydraulic clutches are currently on my sthi list and internal slave cylinders are satanic. For some reason the shifter stub had to come off to slide out. To top it all off, the pressure plate was full of mouse nest and bent. The pilot bearing, clutch disc, throw out bearing, and flywheel all looked damn near new.
Otherwise, it was pretty smooth. The trans and transfer case did in fact out weigh me by a long shot. I won't complain about my 727 as much. Even I can man handle it around
