what gears?

going to look at a 92 4wd with an auto. how do i know what gears it has?

you can jack the rear up and spin the tires 1 full rev and count how many times the driveshaft turns with 1 turn of the wheels. i.e. driveshaft spins 4.1 times then there 4.10's, spins 3 3/4 times then 3.73's and so on. hope that helps.

If its stock you can narrow it down to 4.10's or 3.54's. I don't know how familiar you are with gear ratios, but you should be able to tell by driving it.

Also check for a tag on one of the front diff cover bolts, if its still there it will have a gear ratio on it.

See if the sticker is still on the underside of the hood. If it's there, it will say.
