My truck had a popping noise, until I fixed it earlier today. I replaced the u joints in the driveshaft and all the popping while turning and backing completely stopped. Plus if you haven't changed them recently or don't grease them often it's a cheap fix and would be well worth the time anyway.

Mine only happened when I would turn the steering wheel to full lock (2wd). I've changed all the rears and the carrier bearing too. :D

On a 2wd, check the radius rod bushings.

How about upper and lower BUSHINGS? Balljoints? :D
Sometimes the bolts in the radius rods-to-control arms just creak when you lock to lock it.

Yup and yup. I did everything from...okay, its easier to say the only things I haven't touched yet are the steering gearbox and two tie rod ends that were in good shape. Everything else and I mean everything else was changed.

Well then, if the obvious is done, then what remains undone, no matter how implausible, must be causing the noise.
Check the box for excessive play near the end of the left turn and check the coupler for slop.
You might also check the front of the frame where it's riveted together, in front of the box.

The knuckles for the tie-rods can wear out and while the TRE's are good, the shaft might not be tight. I have seen this happen on a car I had. Requires either a new knuckle or a very tight nut...

Check the bushing in the steering column too. Grab the shaft behind the rag joint and push-pull on it. That can get plenty sloppy too.
