No what I need to get me off my butt is an extra $2000 for an engine build for a toy. Sadly I don't have that laying around, and there are several other projects demanding my attention 1st like a cummins swap into my crew cab.

I have a "extra" 12v VE and a extra VE, and a 727 all apart, and a 87 Suburban....

LOL!

Gonna mill off the log and build a intake manifold, P&P, possibly bigger valves, etc. Just need to get off my butt and work.

My pile managed to wheeze out 268 horse on the dyno. No optical pickup, so no torque numbers. I may be able to squeeze out a bit more next time.

Hineman decided to show me a trick with my throttle linkage, so it goes a bit further now.
No more throttle linkage getting in the way, that's what coat hangers are for.

Now Levi, that was supposed to be a proprietary modification.
I should have known better than mess with a 20 year old part that is infamous for breaking when we're 2 hours from home. Thankfully we had a Leatherman and a coat hanger. The old beast sounded pretty good. Maybe next time we can make it through the weekend without a tornado and severe thunderstorms.

For anyone looking for a baseline, my truck has a LP piston pump, fuel screw about 3/4 from runaway, 62/65/12 S300, homemade 4 inch exhaust, BHAF, 3 inch crossover with non-functional(as of right now)air-to-water IC, and a Getrag swap.

By the way Hineman, I need you to iron all my shirts until I get another throttle linkage sorted out. :P

Schieds Mustang... Low numbers were with the KSB Hotwire switch on... It sounded flat up top with power to the ksb.

I did 339 and 708 on 9/11/10. In 4th gear! I was told there was no correction but now there is a roumor there was a 3-4% correction? I'm not sure, but I'm happy I broke 300!

Made a dyno-run today. (12mm VE IP, #2 Fuel only, No correction factor)

EDIT: And no AFC fuel enrichment. The daggum boost reference tube had blown off earlier and I failed to see it when I failed to check thoroughly days earlier. My name is David, and I'm a putz..

It's been 11 months since I ran that dyno (DynoJet 248C) last. I've changed the HX35/40 hybrid secondary to an S362/14, tightened the NON lock-up converter a little, and swapped the Cummins 60# valvesprings for some Hamilton stuff since. Got a big boost in torque at the expense of a little horsepower (I guess) and now have the power band available at a lower engine RPM range (shifted to the left).

This dyno run (Blue) compared to the last (Green) . . .

Do you think the converter had much to do with that big torque number? I would gladly give up
that little amount of HP for that huge gain in torque.

Dar,

I think the converter tightening was what moved to power to the left. The better flowing hot-side of the S300 (compared to the HX35) is responsible for the torque gain. :)

We made three runs, one with 1/8th" timing and no KSB (331hp 805tq) then two more with 1/4timing" and KSB energized (379hp 848tq, 374hp 832tq) The shop is reputable and had nothing to gain by inflating the numbers since I did my own engine work. I cant get my sheets to upload for some reason. I will as soon as I can I will. I'm gonna drag race it tomorrow, dont have high hopes trying to shift a manual truck transmission.
