Geez! What kind of overdrive are you running, and how what's the RPM at 140 and 160?

hes talking about mph not rpm, and hes running a 5spd

and its not a cracker box, it wrenching service in a flash :lol:

I think flying brick is what Brian called it right after he made the 48*hp run years back. Not sure of the gearing probably 3.55 in a dana 80 and a getrag is what is in that truck.

5spd = Getrag

It also equals NV4500 which is what the fellow who posted this has in his truck acording to his sig. Just trying to be as percise as can be. :D

Yes I have 3.31 gears and run 32" tall tires with a getrag 5 spd. It will pull well past 4200rpm, it just doesn't pull as well as at 3000rpm. 8)

Wind Resistance

Postby Ace » Tue May 13, 2008 6:40 am

Wind resistance is the biggest speed-limiting factor for a pickup shaped like ours. Top speed is going to be more drag limited than power/gearing might suggest. For every 10% speed increase, drag increases by over 40%. You just can't make enough power to go over a certain speed with these vehicles. Laws of physics and all...

I'm personnaly a little gun shy about speed after the driveshaft came out at a 110 :cry: but that was at about 3300 so It's got some left.

we could just be like the bugatti veyron, we could run a v-16 diesel ( not that primative gas stuff) with 10 intercoolers.
