How would a strait stock HX-40 W/18cm exhaust housing work for a mildly fueled automatic? By mildly fueled, I mean gov spring, full fuel screw short of runaway and the reverse foot gone.

I have been told the 18cm is a dog and hard to spool. I'm runnin a super hx-40, with my fuel setting's it spool's almost like stock. It has the 16cm housing on it.

A little slow to spool without some injectors and dont let it got over 45-50 psi. The compressor wheels like to come apart after that.

Forgot to mention the POD's. Might go with some 370 tips. Does the spool still have issues with an auto?

That 18cm housing is the problem. A 16cm would work fine. The 18's are known for spooling slow without lots of fueling.

I had no problem spooling my hx40 with an 18cm housing, with stock injectors. But you need to get the 8 blade version.

Yes even with the auto it will still be slow on the spool up. I would run a set of 370s over the pod's the 370's run cooler and cleaner.

it spooled better then my stock h1c 21 cm housing

Yeah the stock 21cm is a turd. They do work good on 5.0 mustangs though
