Guy's IN ONTARIO

Postby cummins king » Thu May 07, 2009 8:07 pm

Hey Guy's

For those of you who don't know, on May 9th, TDR is hosting the spring Dyno at Diesel Doctors, in Georgetown, ON. It starts at 9am.

Its $50 to dyno you get 3 pulls, or $5 bucks for some lunch.

Should be a good time, i keep missing it but i hear there is 25 to 40 trucks that come.

Agreed!
I got that oil pan on yesterday and i retorque my head. then i crancked my timming from the retarted side all the way to the advance side(im advanced one tooth).
And i topped out at 160kms, a big jump from 140kms. and it corrected my ruff idle, now it runs really nicely.

Tonight im going to cranck my fuel screw in abunch, its about 1/2 way now, and get my custom injection brew ready.

Its supost to rain so im thinking its a go.

ya I need it, try 275 hp with 700 foot pounds of torque, but before u laugh ur self off the chair, the dyno sucks, I counldnt light the bottom turbo nomatter how hard I was on the breaks. I top out at 55 pounds of boost, which on the street I can hit 100psi. The smoke was so bad cuz it wouldn't light that it cleared the 3 bay shop.

So what I think is I'm going to take it to a 1/4 mile trake and estmste the up that way, or sell my tranny and put a five speed in.

How about a better dyno setup?

What? Of it was only a single but it's twins, and I couldn't light the bottom, so?

Was it a dynojet? If not what kind of dyno was it? Sounds like it might be time to put the AFC lever back to functional operation so you can get those turbos lit instead of over fueled.

Its a DYNO-mite chassis dynamometer, and i do have an AFC in.

I can light it on the street fine, and it clears the smoke fine, but since the bottom one wouldn't light, it was a crazy admount of smoke!

Im wondering if i should feed the bottom one directly from my manifold?

Just sum thoughts

with or without the second turbo lit you had 50 psi boost correct?
your hx40 wasnt very likely makin that boost all by itself for sure so the bottom turbo was doin sumthin I would think

did it lite on the way home? at what mph does it lite? or rpm? I ask because you keep tellin me about the upper kph of 140-160 which is serious rpm with no OD

for example my old twins would lite at 1600 rpm and be all in by 2400 rpm or 25kph start in first gear at which point i could drift the truck at will

second gear starts would lite at 15kph

I am also curious about the 100 psi boost claim on a hx40 and 60 combo - sure the gauge is workin properly as that sounds awfully high? I woulda thought 65-70 tops
in any event you need a boost guage between the turbos and after so you can see what each is doing

did you run the truck to test after you ran the fuel screw in and turned the timing up just before the dyno run - maybe you just outwitted yurself by palyin with the setup you had?
