drilling out banjo bolt holes

Postby 1badve239 » Sat Aug 21, 2010 9:05 am

On my banjo bolt would there be any performance gain if I drill out the holes on the bolt a size or two bigger? How about on the cover of the pump where the boost travels from the bolt to the fuel pin it looks like maybe I could drill it out a little bigger what are your suggestions? I have one more question what is the best way to mark my star wheel so I know the stock setting? Maybe permanent marker or will it not stay?

i think drilling them out to a 5/32" or 11/64" bit will work fine. i did it to mine. 3/16" seems too big, its bigger than the chamfers on the stock bolt holes.

hey-Hey!!!,
I'd be most cautious on drilling the bolts; there needs to be enough strength to squish a copper seal washer. Now if the app can live with something softer as a seal...I'd still be careful.
cheers,
