Turned up I/P questions

Postby 1STGENFARMBOY » Wed Sep 29, 2010 2:18 pm

This statment has been making me wonder if its worth leaving it up or not,( turned up pumps don't last as long as stock)
what exactly is it hard on, and why does it ware them out? I don't race at the track, but i will size up the guy beside me
at a light every now and again, I don't pull and probly never will after watching so much carnage hooked to a sled, I do tow
heavy ocationally and plan on driving long distances with a camper in the bed. Am i killing my truck leaving it up.

Thanks Darwin

Yes, but we all are. :D

In my mind most of the pump issues will be with smaller injectors that cause the pump to really grunt the fuel through. I suspect pumps turned up with bigger sticks will last longer then if it had stockers.

I actually backed my fuel screw out 1 turn over the weekend. What a waste of time that was, it still smokes like a steam train.

You're asking the wrong guy here. Just went on a road trip with a 14mm pump :D
