How detrimental is turbulence @ the manifold?

I have an adaptor for my he351ve installation but I'd planned on not using it. There are a couple spots that the air would have to pass getting from the manifold to the turbo that are not great. The inlet to the turbo does not line up with the adaptor completely and there is about 1/8th of an inch lip that the air flow would crash directly into.
1993 W250, 115k miles, pump turned up, M&H Timing Spacer, built a518 w/ steel stator spec rite, he351ve, 16" steel wheels, 255/85r16 BFG Km2's

just blend it to match?
1993 Dodge W250 Reg cab. Auto, .010" headgasket, A1 Studs. Just the Lil Ole VE pump Fuelin 7x.014's turnin the Aurora 3000 turbo. 5" Turbo back to Duals. :cbadge:

I thought about that but I'd have to blend the turbo, adaptor and manifold to possible make it line up. Then if anything ever changes I'll have to deal with matching something again.

that is about the only option you have. the new manifolds wont exactly work on our truck so about the thing you can do is port match them.

So what you're getting at is that turbulence is bad and that I need a smooth transition?

turbulence is a bad thing if you're looking to make max power/tq. it will run just fine if you didn't do anything though. you'd just be missing a little potential power

Will it create a bunch of extra heat? I'm not looking to make max power right now, I'd need head studs to make any power.

Well 350 would be nice, I think ultimately I'd like to shoot for 450 but that's later on. I might try the free adaptor first, after all, it's free, sitting in the garage.
I've not torques my head studs yet, I need to get a better torque wrench first, the one I have now is just a cheap one with a metal gauge and a needle that measures the flex of the handle.

You don't need head studs to make power, really high boost then yes head studs will help, but i think 350hp is pretty doable with the stock gasket and head bolts. especially if you re torqued them.
