you mean to put presure on the lip of the seal? If so... then no, IMO there would be so little room it would kind of be pointless. my retainer allready has a step in it thats about 20 thousands tall, I installed the seal right before I put the retainer on, so I could feel it squishing down on the seal and pressing it into the bore a bit more, I'm hoping that when the locktight dried it did so in a manner that is keeping a bit of pressure on the face of the seal.

Either way, the way that the seal is designed, the fuel inlet pressure pushes on the back side of the sealing face, essentially putting more force on the sealing surface as pressure goes up (in conjunction with the seal spring)

what i'm trying to say is that I dont think it will blow the lip out, just probably get to the point where it seap's by the seal.... at which point some kind of double seal would be needed

and all my fuel lines are 3/8 ID....someday I'd like to go half inch, but i think im going to aim for 500hp on this injection pump with the current fuel setup.

honestly, I think ive got all the supporting mods for 500horse, with the timing bump that I did yeasterday the truck feels better than it ever has, from a rollin start in 3rd I can spin the 37's for quite a while once the turbo lights

I THINK all i will need for 500hp is a nice turbo/injector selection

I found that the stock fuel filter on my '97 was too much of a restriction. The holes on the inlet side of it are too small. At least on the newer filters. The older ones I had when I bought the '97, in late '01, were quite a bit bigger. Still put out 416/892 to the ground without a problem though. :D

The dinky OEM lines on my '92 sure are a joke. Will be changing those out for 3/8" lines, at minimum. Not gonna be BOMBing this one as much as I did on that '97. (Do have some SDX 5x12s on the way though. ;) NEED more fuel to the VE to handle it.)

ive got a VP44 canister style filter on my truck now, so there is not much restriction there, they seem to flow really well.

BTW just measured my spare pump for seal retainer clerance....WOWZERS

i seamed to remember there was more clearance...woops...

yeah I know...wooden ruler isnt so accurate...

looks like there is only about 3/16 of clearance.... mine spins over fine, and with the gear locked down, and the pump loose on the 3 pump mounting studs, it wasnt binding at all.... guess I should have checked before just widdling down a retainer and calling it good

whatever... it works, there is no binding, I ain't skerred 8)
