How much "advance" is too much?

Postby 92strokersmoker » Thu Apr 05, 2012 6:10 pm

Ok with adding more fuel and Injectors with higher pop off pressure, Ive learned you need more advance on your injection timing. Fact or myth? So what would be considered too much advance? Can anyone tell me how many degrees advance running the pump to the head brings? And by doing so how much fuel would it take to make this beneficial.

Why did you get injectors with higher than stock pop off pressure?

Higher pop pressure will make your injectors pop later, so you would need to add timing to bring it back to normal. It takes your IP a few milli(or whatever measurment)seconds to create that extra pressure needed to pop the injectors, and considering how fast things happen inside an engine that could seem like an eternity to the combustion cycle.

What pressure are they set at? If it's anything like POD pressure, then just throw it to the head. That seems to work out alright for them.

I never put injectors with higher pop pressure in. I was just confirming what I had been told. I cant remember what mine popped off at. I want to say 3k when I tested them
