Last truck now has gauges

Postby Richie O » Wed Feb 23, 2011 3:05 pm

I have a couple more to get for the 89, but atleast all 3 have some of the needed gauges. This is in the 92 ( stockish ) truck.

So far wide open with load is 15 psi and 1100 degrees. This truck sure is a turd. 21mc housing and all. :D

I know, she is a ball of fire. I'm not going for power in this one. I need it to tow heavy 18 to sometimes 24,000 gross so it will remain mild. Right now I can just hold it all day long and not worry about anything.

Nice low profile wiring job. Matches that red interior perfect!

I just won't drill a dashboard. I know the wires look crappy, but I like it better then a bunch of holes.

But you drilled holes to mount the gauges! You're a hypocrite! Oh alright, I saw the 2 sided tape! :P

It looks good, Rich knows I'm busting his chops. ;) Here's another option for running wires, route them straight toward the defroster vent and slide them down the edge between the dash top and vent. IIRC, there's enough room to slide them thru there.

When I swap this dash into the new cab I may do somthing different. I did it this way knowing that in a year or so it all has to come back out to swap over. And Yes, Pete has permission to slap back. God knows I hit him enough. :D

Who knows what the future might bring?? 30 psi gauges are a wast of money. My other trucks have 35 and 45 psi of boost, so some day this one might as well. :D

did you mount the gauges in your other trucks the same way?? ( top side of dash) or ??? i havent put gauges in mine yet, i have them in the garage, just need a pyro lead. i took them outta my 97 6.5, i had a pillar pod on that one, but i just dont think my pillar pod will work

just kinda hunting for ideas, i like the loom to hide the wiring
