Well we were goin to Bolton till about ten minutes ago - I guess second gear didnt like all the new hp we have

Man what a ride, and I am not kidding super super LOUD - we have to wear earplugs in the cab

So this things builds boost almost instantly, and we have it externally wastegated to 50 psi now.

Totally amazing how this thing runs

Interestingly enough boost is almost 20 psi before drive pressure starts to come on, and doesnt catch up to 1:1 untill about 45 psi and stays at 1:1 as far as I could tell - even with two of us in the cab and watchin the guages its a chore to keep track of what all is goin on, drive pressure, fuel pressure, egt, rpm , boost, oil pressure, trans temp,

Cant wait to get this thing on the track

sorry I didnt take any photos of my porting

Most porting tends to be proprietary, and the photos you see are home grown, and not necessarily any good on a turbo head.

Large and pretty isnt always a good thing

What did you come up with on the bigger valves?

well you have one of two inexpensive choices depending on what you wish to do

I used cummins intake valves all across the board

Next step up when i refresh the head this winter will be 351 windsor intake and exhaust valves, springs, retainers etc with a lash cap - makes the stack exactly the right length, and the vlave guide will ream easily to the requried size

One can go as large as 1.8 exhaust, and 2.2 on the intake from what I have been able to find out. However that is on the extreme side as you are terribly close to the cylinder, and valve shrouding becomes an issue as well

Using intake valves in the exhaust isn't a very good practice for long because they aren't made to take the heat. It is probably a good thing this is a puller motor not a street motor.

has any one got good flow numbers with the bigger exhaust valves? i ask cause we put int. valves on the exh side on a head at work and didnt gain anything. we actually lost some flow. now we didnt do a full port job on it but we did blend the pockets at least. i just ask cause i dont wanna see someone try it and go backwards. i dont know if it was gettin valve shroudin bad or what but just a thought.
