Don't worry, I'm not going to be driving it much with no bed. My neighbors love me enough already.

Tried a few things with my timing...

In the video I posted earlier it was set at a shade over 16 degrees. It was hazing pretty good and had real thick white/grey smoke when revved. It's a little over 22 degrees static now and it idles much cleaner and revs up a lot better/cleaner/faster. I'm going to see how this does for a while.

Also, these timing numbers are calculated, as I don't have a timing light for it yet.

How are you calculating it? I'm curious because it would be nice to convert mm of lift to degrees. And I've never seen a chart for it yet. I know where I am in lift, but I'd like degrees too.

I've always heard that the stock timing on an intercooled VE of 1.25mm was approximately 12.5 degrees. Not exactly sure, but probably in the ballpark. With my pump at the stock location, skipping teeth on the gear and using offset keys of known values let's me know where I should be degree wise. I'd like a timing light, but don't have one yet.

Thanks for the info. The timing light runs off the injector line right?

No problem Pete.

Yep, a transducer clamps on the #1 injector line. I've not done much searching for one, but the ones I have seen are pricey.

I had the ksb on in the video, but it was still clean without it on.

Makes me happy to have that little of haze with the fuel setup I have.

I went ahead and put the old bed back on the truck for now. It will be a little while before I have all the dually parts and paint done.

It drives very nice with the new pump. If you're easy on it you can drive with no smoke at all. 2nd and 3rd gear will blow the tires off on dry pavement. I run out of road and balls in 5th, so I really don't know what it is really capable of. If the road is the slightest bit damp, mashing it at 55mph/5th gear will get you 70 and sideways pretty well instantly.

With the old pump I could just hit 60 psi overall boost in 4th. Never had the 100psi gauge in it then, but it would peg the 60psi gauge pretty hard in 5th. With the new pump, I can hit 60-65 psi in 3rd. Primary boost is 30-32 psi in 3rd and 4th gear. I need a good stretch of highway to see what its got in 5th. I haven't been able to get max numbers in 5th yet. I want to mess with it for a while on the street before I dyno it.

So far the most I've seen out of it has been 68 psi overall and 35 psi from the primary. Hard to watch all the gauges at once. If my old buddy Levi would ever hang out anymore, he could go for a ride to watch the gauges while I watch the road. :P

Filled it up after a week of daily driving duty, along with several wot runs and got an average of 18.46 mpg.
It could be a little higher, as my speedometer and odometer has flaked out a couple of times. Something else to fix.

Any updates on your truck? Also, how much did your twin setup cost if you don't mind sharing?

Nothing really new as far as performance is concerned, but I did see a new best of 70psi out of it the other day. The primary was working hard too.8)

Sorry, repost from the BS thread.

I've probably got around $2500 in the setup. It's the little things that add up. But I do like them a lot. Makes for a very drivable truck that still has a lot of power.

Did you get it converted to dual wheel yet?

Not yet. I need to buy tires first. Just spent the little play money I had left after Christmas on tires and brakes for my wife's Acadia.
