Ok so I have my A1000 and 1/2" lines ran but what are you all doing to increase the IP inlet size and what snap ring are you using for the shaft seal? I am putting in 6X.015 sticks and planning on running this pump till failure. Then on to bigger better things. I just don't want to run out of fuel. I am also running a BIG 2micron water seperator/ filter that has 3/4" inlet /outlets. It's like a 90GPH flow filter. So I am just concerned with what you all did to the inlet. Thanks.

Run one of Aeromotive's boost referenced regulators and you won't have to worry about running out of fuel, increasing the inlet size or a silly snap ring :P . Proven to 600+rwhp in a VE truck. Haven't seen any modded inlet or snap ring setups do that  .

KTA has had a retainer ring in his since 01 or somthing he was saying in another post. Aeromotive reg. is what I am ordering but thought while my $$ were catching up I'd mod the pump to be ready for 45psi or so.

Fyi that 600hp ve truck is running some kind of seal retainer. Really there isnt much you can do to the inlet without removing the pump and tearin it down unless you can figure out how to keep the metal shavings out of the thing.

Well folks I guess the inlet will stay the same. As for the retainer, what is the O.D. and thickness of the ring that yall are using?

i have some stuff that some people aroud here want me to keep a secret, but here it goes,
i have costom made seals for the front of the pumps good for over 75psi and safts speeds over 2500rpm, still waiting to test it but it looks promissing,

my inlet size is 1/4 npt, i wont go much bigger

i have the next pump up from the a1000 and i have the boost refrenced regulator and i will never be able to run it out of fuel

what you should do is buy a working ve pump do the work on it then put it in the truck, i have step by step rebiuld pdf papers on it, its 25mb lots of pics, so if i ever get my internet working propoly i could send it in 3 or 4 emails

Thanks CK! That's the kind of answers I was looking for. The IP will be off shortly. Or when all this ice and moisture quits, I've been working 14 to 20hrs a day.

I just have 3/8" line to a -6 JIC fitting at the pump inlet, makes it a full 3/8" ID or more throughout the system.

you have to drill out the adapter fitting (the metric one (12x1.25?) that goes in the ip and is -6 on the other end). if you just run it as is it will be no where near 3/8". i cant remember what size i drilled mine to, pretty thin tho...

i just stuck a -6jic 90° on that and didnt worry about it necking down a little

but then i am not looking for 600 hp either

least not with that ve motor...

Will some explain to me what is involved in a complete fuel system upgrade. I'd like to know all about the boost regulated pump and IP rings and stuff. A system that will support 400 horses
