So what's the torque plate good for?

He is some more pics of stuff I have been working on.

Balancing my my connecting rods

Some pics of my polished beems on the rods, this is used to relieve stress risers, Is it necessary? Cant hurt

These are the unblowable freeze plugs I made, I have $15.00 into them for alumunium stock, sure beats the $49.00 a piece ones that Hasilys sell

Here is my cam, I have drilled the end for a bolt on gear retainer, I still have to machine a retainer. It is a stock 24v core I have had it reground by Comp cams with a custom grind. Running the common rail lifters, this thing is going to rock!

Are you going to produce the soft-plug replacements? That would be alot easier than collecting burnt out heaters! ;-)

I may make a few sets, they are real easy to make, just need a lathe.

I bet if you took your old heater to a local machine shop they could make a set of 5 for not much at all.

I am curious - i too used the 24v cam and drilled n tapped - but couldnt find a tool bit hard enough to open the cam gear for a slip fit
are you turning the cam down?
other issue is the key is way tooo small to hold much torque on the cam - how u dealin with that - new keyway and larger key?

I have an extra cam gear, I will be honing it out on a rod hone machine until I get a good slip fit on the cam, I will play around with the offset key way until I get the cam degreed in where I want it. Then I will install a normal gear, and press fit it on the end of the cam, using the keyway specs from the slip on gear. Then I'll use the bolt and retainer to keep it from walking off. It may be a degree +- from where I set it by swaping gears but I have looked at them and they are machined exactly the same.
