HX35 on my truck.

Any custom fit goodies I have to worry about? I get the downpipe with the hx35 too. The only issue I may have as far as I can see, is my pacbrake.

This kinda what a wastegated housing with a PacBrake looks like in a 1st gen. It's tight:

There's no more than about an inch of clearance to the heater box with the pipe dropping almost straight down from the Pacbrake. Later I finished the job with a full 4" model:

You will need to get the DP from Pacbrake (3") if you want it to bolt up to the bellhousing, or make a custom one like I did.

Can I put a non wastegate housing on the hx35? I mean, I have a 16cm housing already, will it work on the hx turbo?

Then it would probably be straight swap with your existing DP. You do have the Pacbrake presently installed, right?

The H1C and the HX35 use the same exhaust housings. If you don't want to mess with the WG'd housing just use the one you have installed.

It will not hurt performance one bit and it also means you don't have to rework any of the exhaust.

Going to the HX from a H1 you will see a small drop in boost. Normaly it is around 2 PSI. But the EGt's will drop some at WOT. On my truck when I did the HX35 swap I had a 25 degree drop at WOT.

Switching to a 24 valve air horn or a set of cool tubz's will give you around a 50 degree drop in EGT's at WOT. I think of a HX35 as a minor upgrade.

How is a HX a upgrade if I lose boost? I can lose 50F off the egt from backing off from 38-36psi.....................your starting to give me second thoughts here............I have cooler tubes already.

Going to a bigger turbo you almost always loose some boost. In the holset line figure 2 PSI for each step to the larger turbo.

Right now with your truck at 38 PSI your about 15 PSI over the map range of a H1C. You making a lot of heat to build to that PSI. The HX35 has a map range of 35 PSI.You will be getting a cooler more dense intake charge.

So don't worry about a small loose of boost. Your looking for a cooler intake charge.

Right-O.....

I am also thinking of getting rid of the POD's and getting some 370's.
