What fueling mods do you have right now?

Going to a bigger turbo will decrease black smoke, and have lower boost numbers, not the other way around.

KTA put up a teh Flow rates of the 57 S300 vs teh Super HX40 and the super 40 flowed more. So if it was between those two I would go that route.

For me though I would go with the 62/65 S300 For the $20 extra you get ALOT nicer turbo with a stronger shaft and one that will flow more air then teh Super 40. Also with teh 65 wheel and 14cm housing spool up should be great.

And 91 is correct, you will get less smoke (more power) with the bigger turbo and a lower boost number at the same lbs/min. Really though you will see the same boost number if not more. I went from 42psi with my H1C/H1E Hybrid to 55 with my Silver 62.

I vote for the 62/65/12. Make sure you get the 12cm or .70ar housing. It will work better/spool better for towing/less hp trucks than the 14cm or .80ar housing.

What's with the rebate? Who are you getting these through?
