HE351CW vs HX40

Postby wicked_stenH » Thu Nov 18, 2010 12:12 am

im currently running the HE351CW with a dennyt pin, fuel screw on the edge of runaway, timing bumped, non-ICed injectors, 2nd gen intercooler, 3200 gsk, the basic mods ect..

im currently seeing around 48psi with the w/g hose pinched ( i know)
would it be much of an upgrade to run a hx40? my main concern would be spool up with the manual. i know the the 351 is on borrowed time being spun that fast, and drive pressure has to be thru the roof with the 9cm housing.
thanks

From what I have read the HX40 and the HE351 use very similar compressor wheels. I think you might gain an advantage by going to a HX40 with a 16 cm turbine housing though.

You really ought to trim your fuel back a little until boost is 40 psi or less. The HE351 is out of the map after 40 psi (you only get hot air after that).

Seriously? What did you do?

I had great fun when I was running DDP4's and an HE351 at 39 psi.

it only boost that hard under the right load/circumstances. i usually dont push it up that high, genrally i grab another gear by the time it hits 40psi. will the hx40 work with my current downpipe config?
