That third injection pump nut, the one located between the injection pump case, power steering pump and engine block?

Is there a way to tighten that thing beyond selling your soul to Satan? Because I've already sold my soul, so I'm out of ideas.

A 1/4 inch drive socket and UJ, with two feet of extensions and a ratchet from the bottom worked to get it off... But tightening on the nut that way just torques off the UJ.

And anybody know where I left that damn injection-pump support-bracket bolt?

Man you are too funny your post are ALWAYS so dramatic! The best way to get aty that nut is with an s-bend wrench. Why do you think you always here about the harbour frieght S bend wrenches? Before you take your shot gun too it you can also just heat up a wrench and bend it, thats all I did.
Hope this helps.....you sleep at night

p.s. Maybe Satan will make a different trade with ya?

I love my Snap-on sp144 wrench :P . And surely you have an extra metric bolt laying around for the pump bracket... or can find one to steal from somewhere else on the engine lol

I stole one from the bracket that holds the oil dipstick to the manifold ;)

No, Harbor Freight USED to sell a set of "S" wrenches that worked, but they have discontinued them. You're going to have to bend one yourself or break out your wallet.

I modified the 13mm S wrench from harbor frieght so I could get the back nut, little bend here, little grind there.

A 3/8 drive crows foot on an extension will work. I've done it that way many times. My best time was like 40 minutes to get the pump off from the time I pulled in the garage till it was in the box, of course all the bolts and nuts have to cooperate with you to do that.

yep, just about a 5deg bend on the 13mm end so it'll clear the PS bolt under it and works perfect - almost too easy.

bringin a dead thread back...my pump was EASY to take off, whoever put the pump on last time simply left that nut out!! It still ran...

so I guess I'll be sacrificing yet another craftsman wrench to the 'special tools' drawer after the torch and I motivate it into shape.

I went Autozone and bought a $3.00 wrench to make mine with.

I prefer to buy the $30 snap on wrench, and then sell the truck before using it. I looked for a place to use it on my gasser, but have come up with nothing so far...
