converting from drw to single

Postby newwelder27 » Thu Sep 20, 2012 5:36 pm

Ok i have been searching this forum and others and this is what i have found. That if you take the front wheels off and take off the dually spacer you should just be able to bolt up standard rims is this correct? If so the bolt pattern is 8 on 6.5? Ok now for the rear if i take off the dually's out back then i can just bolt standard rims on is this correct? I don't mean to be ignorant but i don't have a bunch of money to go out and buy some used rims to just try out and it not work out. O by the way i forgot to say it is a 4x4 to.

For the front, you will need to swap out to srw hubs, as the dually adapters bolt on. As for the rear, an axle swap in in order. This is what is needed to be done for a proper conversion. Some folks just wing it/hack job/mis-match to make drw to srw or vice versa. To each thier own ;)

Thanks for getting back with me quick. Ok so i well need to find srw hub for the front. I have 3.07 gears in it is there a rear axle that i should be looking for? So i dont have to change gears over to? You know what i should just buy new axles front and rear and make this less complicated. I want to do this right. I just don't need the dually rear-end.

Any 3.07 SRW rear should work just fine, I know DRW 3.07's are kind of in short supply, so you shouldn't have a problem recouping some/all of the money needed for the SWR rear and a set of hubs. Someone may have some SRW hubs they might trade you for your DRW hubs too ;)
