hazing

Postby cummins32 » Tue Dec 11, 2012 8:39 pm

I installed some DAP 5x12 sticks about 2 weeks ago, they've been hazing lately, It's been getting cold here in Indiana, would that have anything to do with it ? I love the injectors but was just curious as to why they were hazing, its kind of bluish, and also my stock turbo has a lot of in and out play

Nature of the beast, timing can help. Is yur turbo leaking any oil into your intercooler pipes? That will make it haze somethin fierce

5x12s aren't so big that they are gonna haze. Try some more timing.

My 4x13s haze. Not fiercely, but it's noticable especially at night. I know it's the injectors because I don't lose oil between changes. The smoke is white and smells of fuel.

My vote says it's the nature of the beast.

I've never had an injector that I couldn't time the haze out. Maybe, I've gotten lucky though. Now cold, holy crap my truck looks like a 2000hp sled puller while trying to spool a turbo. But she cleans her all up when warm.

I have a set of New Era 5 x .012's , they haze at idle when cold but clean up if I run it hard enough to get hot. Just dawdling around town won't do it, I need to be on the highway or working it for the haze to go away.

I'm running dap 5x14s. They seem to like timing. I dont know if they have a higher then stock pop pressure or what. Skipped one tooth and to the head it was still spraying completely in the bowl. This was with the non ic pistons Just skipped one tooth it ran like crap and smoked non stop.

My ddp3(5x12) injectors ran clean. Hazed slightly when cold out, and I could only notice the haze driving while at night in someones headlights. Daytime they appeared clean as can be.

Makes it sound like a lower pop pressure. The lower the pop pressure the more they "dump" the fuel.
