For the last three or so years, I've been promising the wife I'd remodel the bathroom. New tub/shower surround, complete drop-in ceiling, exhaust fan, all new paint, etc. It includes substantial cleaning of the fiberglass tub (Easy-Off brand, No-Fume oven cleaner, in the Blue can, . . . . is THE sthi) followed by polishing with some automotive paint polishing compound and a quality wax (less the floor).

Dang it! The mess wouldn't be so difficult if I wasn't so anal about the detail.

Any hoot, it's done, she's happy, I've got a new job and it's good. With that, I've got till this coming Thursday to do my chit.

- Verify/reset valve-clearances.
- Replace engine coolant water-pump suspected of intermittent leakage (shaft seal).
- Basic engine coolant system flush / renew antifreeze.
- Change oil & filter.
- Remove "Boost-Fooler" controlling AFC & W/M based on the total charge-air system (twin-turbo) boost, and reconfigure the AFC and W/M to be fed directly from the Primary turbo's output. Dial-in Star-Wheel as needed.
- Maybe Dick with that other injection event timing thingy (perhaps back it off just a tad). More on that once I get it cyphered better.

Can y'all think of anything I'm missing?

You never clean a filter, unless you run a secondary inner air filter. Too great of a risk to blow a hole in it, or otherwise damage it.

Repack front wheel bearings.

I didn't mean a disposable filter, I ment a washable type, which you should not use compressed air to clean.

I have always blown out paper air filters, from the inside out, using moderate air pressure and gentle tapping on the ground. Wether it be one on a Peterbilt 377 (corn chaff), or an Oshkosh M984A2 HEMTT Wrecker (Iraqi "moon dust"), I have never had a problem

My air filter is a home-made BHAF. Two 7" x 12" (or there about) K&Ns glued together with a blank aluminum plate one one end, and an aluminum plate with a BHAF throat/connector on the other. I've cleaned it not too long ago. I need to get more cleaner and filter-erl.

- Service/Replacement water-pump installed: Check.
- Engine coolant circuit purged of old antifreeze and refilled with water and cleaner: Check.

Gonna drive it with no radiator fan to Angier and get some Rotilla engine erl.

Might add the glovebox and ashtray to that, too.
If you have a 1st or 2nd gen bucket console set-up, check the console, too.

Also check where the rubber meets the road, tire pressure is important now that it's colder out, as is lubing the chassis.

- Thoroughly purge cleaner from coolant circuit and fill with 50/50% antifreeze ~ Check.
- Engine lube oil and filter change ~ Check.
- Clean, dry, reoil air filter ~ Check.
- Replumbed AFC and W/M so as to be fed from the primary turbo ~ Check. Still gotta dial it in. Seems to work OK.
- Gleaned change from floor and cup-holders ~ Check. $.80.

I think I'm gonna leave the radiator fan and shroud off for a while.

I've gotta get a new air compressor.

Replace cigarette lighter fuse.

I'm sure you've done it, but anytime I have the truck down for any amount of time the steering linkages all get a few pumps of grease through them whether they need it or not. The front axle joints as well, since they always seem to go bad on my truck even when I haven't used 4wd in recent memory.

Or the penny/dime that slid down there and popped the fuse.
I use my 1stgen's ashtray for change and cellphone storage, but it also has an AFC line/bolt assembly and some screws in there, too.

Have ya peeked/adjusted yur r/brakes lately ? If they're like mine the self-adjust is toast.

While your back there whats those shocks look like ?

Then there's the leaf springs - they might like a quick spray'n off and some oil for a smoother ride.

Of course I didn't pay attention to where you live so it might be a bit cold to get wet and all. Not here though - sunny and 65*.

I guess I should do mine while I'm think'n of it.

Sorry, if I came off abrasive, we critters in the snowy parts tend to get obnoxious this time of year.
Though it WAS decent here, today.

With any real luck, by this weekend, or early next week, I'll be heading to the Barstow, CA area to pick up a 1993 5 speed truck and some rustfree beds in my 1996, with the 30-footer behind me.
Of course, I'll need to get a window in the '96, but I figure some windshield adhesive and a piece of 3/16" plexiglass will plug that hole nice enough for me.
