Injection pump problem

Postby Jcs004 » Sat Jan 05, 2013 8:48 pm

I just finished resealing my IP pump myself bc it was leaking diesel. Everything was fairly easy except the head, when I took it off a couple of springs fell out. I'm pretty sure that I installed it back the right way, but when I put it back on the truck it started and revved up really high for a few seconds and stopped running. Now I only get fuel out of the number 2 injector line, any ideas on what I did wrong? I hope I didn't hurt it. Any help would be great, thanks!

If fuel only comes out of 1 line, then something isn't turning inside. You may have snapped the shaft in it. I had one at work that only put fuel out of 1 line, and that had a bad shaft. His was caused by running veggie oil in 0* weather though.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

the head and rotor could have broke? the broken springs are common. but if you send in your pump to get rebuilt be prepared to have a backup core if the head is broken....500$ for just the head
