Sorry im referring to 1st gen owners that thier balls have dropped.... 20+ degrees of timing

With a statement like that are you sure your balls have dropped yet???? Seems a little childish to me, but then again i am not 16 and think i am the sthi because i own a diesel that blacks out an intersection.

The whole point in advancing your timing is to burn fuel more efficiently....

Point being there is no free lunch. Some people don't want to loose the low end grunt to gain some on the top end. If you're running a crap load of fuel that turbo as a single is not for you anyways.

I for one, drive my truck in a manner that it rarely sees high rpm's. I like the low end. I could jack up the timing to gain a bit if I were to put it on a dyno. But for me and most of the folks on here, our trucks see lower rpms (2500 or lower) 95% of the time.

Yup exactly, mine is a tow vehicle not a race car. I have a race car that i take to the track for the rpm/speed fix.

This turbo does allow one to use more timing though. It lights so easy that you don't lose as much of your low end grunt. So yes, even though it is a low rpm turbo and advancing timing makes a high rpm engine, you still get away with it and can give yourself a broader power band. Of course this is at the expense of blowing headgaskets.......even with studs.

I just bought one off Ebay from a guy in New York that the add stated it had 65k on it and he was selling with the exhaust manifold as well. Wonder if it is the same guy? I ended up giving $250 + $37 in shipping for it..... Seems hard to find a used one for under $450-$500 these days
