advantage to changing pop pressure

Postby ellis93 » Wed Feb 13, 2013 6:42 am

Is there any advantage to messing with it,as far as fuel mileage or flow from injector?

Besides the 245bar spec, what have you all seen them changed to?

i've been known to have dropped the POP-pressure a little so as to move more fuel. I don't believe such would do any good with mileage. :?

Depends.....

Setting it a little higher can help with the spray, but can also hurt you on your timing, so it depends how much you go.

Meaning...... I like to run mine at 3650 psi as opposed to 3550.

Setting them higher should help with haze too. Couldn't you make up the timing by advancing the pump? I read someone had injectors bumped up 60bar and his timing dropped from 22* to 15-16* by light..This was on a p-pump though. and i don't remember where i read it lol

the higher the pop pressure the more strain you're putting on the pump as well....

Correct..... can't go wrong with staying at stock pressures.

But injector pop pressure, injector size, how much the pump is turned up, etc..... all have a play in this.

PODs are commonly used and as far as I know, they have not caused any pump damage. PODs have a higher pop pressure than stock, that is why they run better with more timing. But then again, hole number and size could make the difference.
