Woof, just paid for the rear shackle stuff and a new T4i-flanged Steedspeed. I could hear my wallet sobbing in the other room.

My wallet sympathizes with yours  I bought two auto ordinance 1911s the first of last week. My wallet is still dry heaving

I've got one of those, just their basic GI version, but it's a good gun. Chews up every round I've fed it, only had about 3 FTE's out of it after at least 1500 rounds.

Why two, going to be doing some dual-wielding?

Ha! That's why I bought mine as well, I bought it within the first week I was 21 years old. I had always wanted a 1911, and they had some deal where that GI version was only like $426. I'm kinda pissed I started out with it, this new Sig I have is still being a fussy bitch and it's kinda hard to keep a good attitude when something 1/2 the price shoots twice as good.

Levi have you shot Josh's Ruger 1911? I think it shoots awesome. Very nice, especially for the price.

I've seen quite a few of Josh's guns but not any of his 1911's. He must be hiding them from me.

My taste in pistols has been skewed. The only 1911s I've ever shot are Kimbers. If you have the money, shoot one. If not, save yourself the trouble and don't even think about one  I cracked off a few in the pasture just yesterday, sooooo smooth.

Eehh....they're nice but they're not that nice, the price is unbearable for me. Caleb with a little work you can make a Taurus 1911 pistol just as slick with 1/3 the money. I'm to the point now that I don't read reviews of fire arms and hardly listen to others opinions on them. I buy with one goal,do I like it,and go from there. You'll find half the opinions are BS because the ones making them are biased toward one select group of pistols. Like when I bought my stainless judge I heard "I had one, shot it five times and the cylinder feel off"....never mind the dude was shooting rugger only loads(36000psi) in a gun rated for standard 14000psi loads. I've since put thousands of rounds thru mine and i've not had the first problem, other than keeping it clean from my dirty hand loads!

You made my point. My view is heavily opinionated. Can't say I've compared them to anything else, but I know they are NICE and on the high end of the spectrum. Also, the 2 Kimbers that I've shot cost $800 together ;)

Not to bring this back around, but here's a pic of the small miracle of the week. I could have sworn this thing was going to be laying on its side by Monday, I stole a bunch of pallets from work to try to set it down on.

Like a glove, a badly fitting glove. I'll chuck it up and knock .050-.100" off the face and it should sit in the V-band very nicely. This has the added benefit of only costing $10 per clamp, instead of the $40 per clamp that they're charging for HX-40 style clamps.

All of a sudden the prices for the M112 superchargers went threw the roof. They were going for 300-350 now its more like 400-700.
