What do you mean by take the return off the pump? I agree it is strange how it stopped so suddenly. I the supply has fuel flowing to it.

Luther, I must apologize. :(
I had your situation confused with another and had thought you rebuilt the injection pump.
I now realize I was mistaken and that all you did was swap in a long lock and switch your injection parts onto it.

Since you have totally dis-assembled the fuel system, number 1 priority is that you should verify that there is actually fuel getting to the injection pump.
Do this by removing the inlet line at the pump and either working the lift pump primer lever, or crank the engine and watch for fuel out of the inlet.

I've seen air mix with (areate) the fuel and separate at the injector lines under the higher injection pressure.

I'm with Ellis, it seems like a sudden failure to go from running decent to just dying like that.

Mark.

I took the fuel supply loose last night and turned the motor over and I was getting a lot of fuel. How much fuel pressure does the low pressure pump give. I really think it is a major injection pump problem because the fuel filter is full.

Are you sure the FSS is working? Have you checked to make sure it is getting power? How did you go about checking it if you did?

I removed the plunger and spring on the after I pulled the solenoid and reinstalled it. What does the plunger activate? Has anyone here ever rebuilt one?
