With proper pump tuning your factory injectors will be all your factory turbo can handle.

If you are thinking of upgrading injectors, I would also consider doing turbo.

What's your terrain like, what transmission, and what's your gearing? Towing in the mountians with a 518 and 3.55s is quite a bit different than towing across Northern Indiana with 4.10s and a 5 speed. You can get away with alot on flat ground with a cooperative drivetrain.

Definitely work on air upgrades first if your towing. Number one thing I've read is how people buy humongous sticks and then wonder why their trucks run nuclear temps towing. You have exhaust covered now,so if it were me I'd look to some sort of turbo upgrade, intercooler,or intercooler tube upgrade. Now don't turn your nose up at the idea of some of Tim Worline's cooler tubz, those things alone dropped my egts 75 to 100 degrees. The 60mm inducer helped the most of all, along with the 14cm exhaust housing. Almost no turbo lag with the 5spd.

To be totally honest.... if I were to buy another 1st gen and use it as a tow rig. (intercooled truck)

I'd throw on a 12 cm housing to the big h1c
4" exhaust
BHAF
Timing Spacer
Fuel pin
Gov spring
Crank up the pump properly.

This seems to make a wicked towing set up and usually gives you around 32psi (with proper timing) and about a 1250 max egt.

My truck right now is only running about 21psi, does that sound right? Its an auto though, but no idea on gearing, how do I find that out?

It should say on a tag on the back of the axle, but it may be long gone. Happen to have a tach?

NOT if one has 4.10 gears! Chokes the motor down too much. A 14 housing is a tight as I'd go on one.

I'd work on more airflow improvements, before adding more fuel.

I've got 4.10 gears..... also there is a balance to load vs rpm. With 4.10 gear there is less of a load.

I've been there, done that........it's nice running around town or pulling a small trailer, but put a load on it and she'll heat up. It might be different with a slush box IDK

Gillet Diesel Service sells a non wastegated 14cm exhaust housing for $295 or a wastegated model for $550.

FYI, you want the "short" exhaust housing, assuming you have the stock turbo. The long housing is for replacing a wastegated housing with a non-wastegated housing.

I got mine from Mark Nixon,he said it came from an industrial motor in a bus. I've seen some on case trackhoe Cummins motors. The 16cm housings you can pick up for 160$ just about any where. Check out Ebay,I've seen them on there

250-300

a !6 housing can be had for about 150

Better off with a used hx35....Something to think about..... the 260hp H.O. 24 valves had a 12 cm housing..... As do all factory trucks from 94-2000 at which point they went with a 9cm on the autos and a 12 on the manuals until 2003 at which point all trucks wen to a 9cm housing

Too many downgrade small housings.....
