Fuel Leak

Postby fourdegreesc » Sun Apr 28, 2013 5:05 pm

I have fuel leaking from the alt compensation gizmo on top of the IP. It comes from the vent (?) fitting on the back of the gizmo. I can open the compensator and see that fuel is inside (not sure if it's supposed to be).

I have a bosch gasket kit, and my plan was to re seal the whole unit, but I'm not ready for that yet. The PO replaced the fuel pin but not the governor screw. Anyway, I need the truck to run this week. I can re do the whole pump later, but I have the gasket kit if I need it.

Thanks for any help guys.

after market or ground fuel pins can cause the oring seal for the little pin to leak. mine has a very very small leak from this. i have never fixed it because it is so small. i do believe that there is a little bit longer "small pin" available that keep the oring from leaking. how much fuel is it leaking?
