Ok, so if I am startng to understand the way fueling works, the lift pump is the fuel pump that brings the fuel from the tank to the injector pump, that essentially controlls both the volume of fuel deliveted and the timing of the fuel to the injectors. So making the compare to gas, the lift pump is your fuel pump, and the IP is a combination of carberator/ignition distributor. Tweaks to the fuel pin and star are like needles and jets and and advancing the IP is similar to ignition timing, by delivering fuel earlier in the combustion stroke. Now does this allow more volume of fuel or the same amount, just sooner?
Sorry guys, just trying to understand. Kind of like English to Spanish, but just want to understand what I am doing not just do it.

- The lift-pump simply brings the fuel to the IP. That is all. The IP is actually capable of drawing its fuel directly from the tank in certain instances. It has no bearing on what the IP does with the fuel.
- The AFC stuff including the smoke-screw, fuel-pin, star-wheel, ect, impact the fuel-air ratio in part-throttle conditions.
- Rotating the IP itself (relative to the crankshaft) effects the injection event timing. The VE IP is unique in that it has a dynamic injection event timing device. It acts much like the springs and weights in the typical old-school ignition distributor.
- Delivery of the fuel is accomplished via the Head/Rotor:
- The quantity of fuel delivered is controlled by the control collar (part no 5 above).
