Bus VE pump

Postby Ram360man » Fri Apr 19, 2013 11:51 am

Injection pump has started making more racket and has metal in the return banjo filter. Its going in for a rebuild. I have a good ve off of a school bus. Bosch tech said he wasn't sure if it would work. Ran the numbers and he said the head/rotor are differant and the cam plate is a differant model from the non i/c pump. Was off a 180hp 5.9. Was thinking of just running this instead for now. Shouldn't run into any issues with it should I? Its also a non KSB pump.

I'd run it and wouldn't worry about it. You should be fine.

X3, it may run better than the one you take off.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

What I kind of figured. Think I should replace the return springs with the high rpm ones? Pretty sure thats what let loose in the current pump.

Brand new 192 pump= apples
An Old school bus pump the has been on and off the throttle = oranges
In my humble opinion

Well, I prefer oranges, as a food. ;)
But if a new pump of any pedigree means apples, then Washington Reds it'll be.
