Hey, I cut the crap out of mine!!!!!! :D

I Just wanted to say, from my experience with the remote filter, that I am planning on rebuilding all the plumbing for my twins. Why? To put a factory filter mount back on. I feel that the extra 60 inches of 1/2 line for my filter set up contributed to my engine going bad. Although I have no evidence to back my claim, and others run remote filter systems, I honestly think that I lost to much volume of oil and in turn there just wasn't enough oil for the end of my engines oiling system, # 6 rod bearing and 6 & 7 mains. I feel that the remote system can be made to work, but bigger line sizes and a bigger remote filter head is needed. (I used a wix automotive style with a filter comparable to stock size.) I also wondered if another factor was having too large of an oil line to supply oil to the second turbo. I don't know. I just thought I would share my thoughts after going through it. Just be aware!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck

hey thanks
i was thinking about that, i have a perfect place for my filter to go thats only 10inches away and ten back, but i dont know if the flow of oil would change, im going to up grage to 3/4inch lines

im wondering if its harder alot harder on the oil pump and it can pump the oil that much farther and then to two turbos

Cummins makes a factory remote oil setup - uses number ten lines

Where the remote oil filter setups liek the ones you pictured fall down is that if you look inside the adaptor the holes are about half the size of the lines and that is what causes low oil flow.

There are good adaptors out there but they are expensive, as in two to three times the cost of one of those mickey mouse cast aluminum things they sell for under a hundred bucks

Get on Ebay and buy a used nascar oil filter housing, some good number ten or twelve lines, proper fittings and if you watch you will come across a custom made billet aluminum adaptor that doesnt have the small hole issues

Ones with the lines coming from the side of the adaptor tend to have better flow tha ones that exit from the face

thanks
im going to do some honnign on the filter head to alow lots off oil and if i can i will enlarge the holes to 3/4 NPT, and my local auto store is getting me a race filter head with an ac delco filter, i will probaly us 3/4 NPT lines and it sould be good, that will lower the presure but the flow is better

if anybody know the cummins remote filter setup number please let me know, i still want to take a look

codes? what codes? if you remove the glove box there is only one computer behind it. i unplugged mine first, to see if any lights lit up, once i saw that they didnt i removed the puter and pitched it.

oil flow is tricky stuff. sorry to hear about your motor goin south. very sorry. i dont know anything about the cummins but i know you can have too big a line and that alone can cause problems. when my hose guy made my turbo supply line he made it -6. -4 woulda been my choice but he insisted on -6. i have never seen 3/8 turbo supply lines on anything at the race track. have any of you?

Fnschlaud4620 thanks, thats kind of expensive consitering you still dont get the lines and you dont get the filter or housing, my screew on thing cost me 30 bucks and i can port it so it flows better, expesialy for that price

trade price is the same as jobber pricing, or dealer priceing or shop pricing all the same, i run under a shop so i can get cheaper pricing

CP thats good to know i have mine T 'ed at the botom i wonder if it will be a problem great link though

DT your saying that your running AN 6 lines on your remote filter to your block if thats recomend then i would wrather go with that, im thinking if i go with too big of lines it wont push the oil up the turbo lines
