I've got a pic in this thread of how the timing gear should look when you're done skipping a tooth.

Spec is .010 intake and .020 exhaust. Some run 8/18 or 10/18, its mainly personal preference ;)

ok having it timed +1 tooth and multiple different locations of the ip timing im getting nothing but cranking fuel lines bleed multiple times i get white smoke but no fire just resealed the pump and put in a 3800 gsk while resealing a friend from bosch helped me do it doesn't matter where the throttle is either we did make sure the throttle was indexed correctly all settings are how they were prior to disassembly and fss is hooked up and operational kinda lost here

Sounds to me like the timing slipped. Like they keyway fell out.

When messing around with my timing with degreed keys and such, I ended up getting my timing to around 6*s once (had a little brain fart with which way the degreed key needed to be  ). It would blow white smoke rings and half hit every once in a while when cranking it over, but not start. If the key didn't fall out like RC said, you may have retarted it a tooth and not advanced it.

So I haven't been able to get it indexed right followed 3 or 4 of the topics on here and another that I found on here when I'm happy with the idle screw if you put in park and hold the brakes in drive it still ideal decent but nothing flooring it any tips of went throughout the throttle lever range what I think is one spline to the next I've went both ways and I'm stumped
