All right I've got a update on this.

Yesterday I pulled the afc top off to adjust the starwheel and to back out the smoke screw(the P.O. had it in a bunch). I noticed what appeared to be a little oil residue around the rubber diaphragm thing.

I have had the afc off before but there was never any residue there.

So today I went ahead and pulled the tube between the turbo and the intercooler. It was the one place I didn't check.

There seems to be oil build up, specifically on the boot between the 90 degree elbow off the turbo and the straight tube to the intercooler.

I think thats odd though, as it has used a gallon within ~5000 miles.

I would think if that is the cause there would be more build up in the striaght tube.

Can any of you guys who have had turbo oil seals go describe what the oil build up looked like?

Thanks

What are you running for an air filter? How long has it been in there? If the filter is plugged or not large enough to flow well, it could be sucking the oil out of the turbo when it is drawing hard. Just another thing to check.

Sounds to me like it's the turbo...if you have a fair amount in that tube as you say, then there is your answer.
