It is all according to who did the work, what actual work was performed and what kind/type of components were used in the reassembly. A flow chart and before/after dyno sheet would also be helpfull in determining a fair price on a head that could be worth $200 - $3000.

for an 8 hour porting job i was quoted 1500 it think it was.

how much do i have into mine...lemme see: hot tank, mag, bead blast, grind valves, back cut valves, surface head, and hot tank one more time to get rid of porting junk and glass bead $150. cut groove for o-rings $60. machine rocker stands $10

another thing i did while the head was off and apart was i drilled a bunch of holes in it

dont you hate it when you are working on your truck and you need to put a nozzle somewhere or get boost reference somewhere and there is not a hole?

Hey DTank! I hear you live in Huntington Beach. I am out here in Temecula. We should meet up sometime. I got an '89 just like the one they are doing in Diesel Power, except no injectors or NOS.
