Hello everybody, I was wondering about turning up the VE I/P I know of advancing the timing an eighth of an inch, power screw, starwheel, smoke screw, and etc. I had talked to a guy at my local diesel shop about advancing the timing with their tools for me and also about the power screw. He said that it was a pick-your-poison sort of thing and I just wanted to know about what all you guy are running and what you think of the situation.

The Dodge 1st gen trucks using the 6BT series Cummins run the VE IP ('89 ~ '93).
Dodge switched to the ISB series Cummins half way through 1998. That engine uses the VP44.
While similar in overall design, the VE is purely mechanical where as the VP has electronically controlled fueling/timing.
