Dual VE's????

Postby mhuppertz » Sat Feb 09, 2008 9:38 pm

Anyone ever tried chain driving a second VE off of the gear for the primary and then merged the lines as they go into the injectors?

Workin on it...still in the design stages...Scheid does build injectors that could be used, that are normally used for the mod pullers that run 12cyl p-pumps...they have two feeds. Was thinking of a transfer-case style drive off the original pump drive that would drive both pumps...I'll let ya know if anything happens.

yes thats called dual feed injectors, i know 2 ve's sound cool in all but, why wouldnt you just go to a p pump, 1 p pump would still out preform 2 ve's, and the cost would be less

2 VE's give you all sorts of possibilities related to the mechanical advance that the P pump does not have. Also you can slightly stagger the pump timings for a multi pulse charge. I'm not so sure that two VE's couldn't make the same power as a P.
Besides, it would look really cool!!!

Wouldnt different timings on the 2 cause all sorts of problems?

I don't know how the VE shuts the valve. Might neew a check valve...Might me a bad idea altogether.

if you never try you will never know, i think that they have to be timd togeter or you will let fuel in at the wrong time of the stroke

i would think that two different pump would be of calibration enough that it would cause some problems. you might be able to bench tune each one till the are perfectly in sync but after some miles then wear heat and other mechanical forces would throw them off. also there would be more drag on the timing gears trying to turn two pumps and that would not only be a power loss but might damage somethin.
