Interesting find on my motor

Postby TheSilverBullet » Tue Mar 04, 2014 5:49 pm

So I bought my 90 about a year ago. My dad had bought it in 94 and sold it in 2010. So needless to say I knew the truck well. This truck has always ran like a raped ape with just timing and the fuel screw one screw and an industrial h1c.

Ok so the guy I got it from put I boost gauge and pyro on it. The truck builds 40 pounds and boost and runs about 1200 deg WOT. Now me and my buddy had the hood open I just now realized it doesn't have an AFC line :? So now my question is do I put it on? The truck runs great and gets good mpg.

Maybe it was deleted because it wasn't needed?
I'd have a hard time making a choice on that myself!

If you put the afc line on there, you will almost certainly need more air to use all the fuel available. That is assuming that the afc cone is not stuck in the full down position now.

If it ran well, and I could live with the mpgs, I would leave it alone. Who ya got to impress?

I can see 40 psi on that, it's not the only time I've seen a non-ic truck make those kind of numbers. Daniel Dudney's made 35+, I believe its a combination of the tiny crossover and what not. We all know that boost is just a measure of restriction ;)
