HX40W??

Postby CumminsPride » Sat Feb 02, 2008 10:47 pm

HX40 with a 16CMgated housing, Will the exhaust housing interchange with a HX35 turbo? I have one with a 12 and I'd like to use a 16 off this junk 40 I have.

no, it wont interchange. HX40 runs a larger exhaust wheel than a 35

There is a brand new one on ebay right now. He has a starting price of $150 and hasn't gotten a bid yet.

I wish that was a 14cm you had.

It can be modified to work. I was told that the 14 on my hx 40 was bored out. What do you want for the 16?

Hopefully I'll let you know by the end of the week. My backing plate gasket should be in by then.

I put it o today, alomg with the intercooler and cooler tubez. 35 psi was the most I saw, which is about what I expected with the stock injectors. Its actually got a lot less lag than the 21 cm h1c.

I've got one on my work bench right now to put on. I've learned that the HX 40 was designed to be a good upgrade for a mild 5.9 cummins. Its not designed for an all out high boost, dyno queen, truck pulling charger. A friend of mine dyno'd last summer with a p-pumped 12 valve and ran 500+ horse and over 1200 for torque at 35 psi of boost. Then he put it with on top of another turbo.

Mine's got a 16 WGated housing. I'm liking the report where it spools better then the stock charger.
