Hey everyone, I finished my 4wd swap on the '92 and sitll have the 12valve left over from the donar truck

I picked this guy up the other day for $1500 its a 4spd 318:



the 4spd has the clutch slave on the passenger side which I found weird, now my question is what trannys could I find easily?
it seems there are a lot of chevy nv4500's around, but what setup should I get considering availability cost, and if the transfer case I use is driver or passenger side output should I find ford or dodge axles

The stock slave positioning is a moot point, get yourself a proper Dodge NV/Getrag and 205 combo. Run Dodge axles as they are basically bolt on, as ford axle perches are different (wider) and the front driveline is on the other side.

It is more expensive up front.... but will save you a ton of money in the long run, if you get a full running driving donor truck. If you look long enough and hard enough you should be able to pick one up for $3000.

In fact in my area there is one today that is up fro $3000. 5-spd, 4x4, std. cab.... it is cheap because it is "non drivable, as it has a cracked frame at the steering box.
