Dennyt stage 2 afc tuning question

Postby DodgeFreak » Wed Apr 09, 2014 6:42 am

I have two turns on the power screw with stock injectors. Afc tuning with a stock pin I had it flush with the nut and I put the stage 2 in and I could barely shift with out blowing smoke all over the place. I turned the star wheel almost to the top and backed the afc screw out a couple turns. which made it better but passing in 4th it would blow a dark cloud until the turbo would catch up which seemed to take about 7 seconds by then I'm already around the guy. I hated that. I dropped my stock pin in and it doesn't smoke as much and I can get on it with out blowing smoke all over the place. Also the smoke with the stage 2 was a black cloud, with the stocker its a greyish.

My question is....Is there any way to tune the smoke out of the stage 2?? I have a hx35 that will be going on sometime soon. If I can't, I'll be selling it and just run the stock pin as I don't "feel" as though I've lost or gained anything between the two pins.

With the stage 2 no. You can't tune it out since it's going full fuel immediately regardless of where the star wheel and smoke screw are. With a stage 1 pin you could tune the smoke out. Or rc's favourite the bd pin. Those will give you the extra power with better low boost fuel control than the stock pin
