The crank gear is nearly impossible to get off, and there is no reason to take it off. The cam gear presses off, it usually takes about 5 ton. You are supposed to pull the cam to get the front cover off. If you are determined to cheat I built a cam gear puller out of a power steering pump pulley puller I had. You have to make som special arms to go through the whole to pull on the hub of the gear, do not pull or pry on the outside of the gear. I drill and tap the camshaft before pulling the gear so I can use a bolt and a special retainer to reinstall the gear.
