Fuel pickup, lines

Postby Squirrel » Sun Feb 24, 2008 7:18 am

First off, thanks for all the advice, I'm usually a reader but I can't find my answer on this one... I'm replacing my fuel lines hoping to solve my fuel problem. I pulled the sending unit from the tank, the screen looks good, so does the pickup tubing. But it's all plastic, do these crack? Is there anything special I should look for while the tank is on the ground ? I'm replacing the original plastic lines with hard lines and diesel friendly rubber sections. Any other suggestions while I have it all apart. Thanks.

if you have it all a part you should put 3/8s or 1/2 inch lines in, thins is a good mod if your doing a 14mm head or putting a piston pump in

Gauge Accuracy?

Postby Ace » Sun Feb 24, 2008 11:12 am

I wonder how much the sender depends on that pickup basket moving up and down to make the fuel gauge read accurately? And whether or not the basket moving freely is the reason these gauges tend to vary so much in their readings?

Hmm...
