Holy balls tires are expensive now. I love my 255/85s but the 8 plys pretty much erased themselves under the weight of the ctd. Whats the general consensus of treadwrights? Ive been looking at a few different sizes, including 255/85, 285/75, 305/70, and even 9.00r16. I have huge reservations about dropping almost a grand for new shoes. I can put together another beater neon for less than that. All i want is something like a 10ply 33 and not go broke. Ugh.

I have a buddy running tires from this company. He seemed happy with them.

I used to sing the retread praises until my guinea pig tester had one let go on him in under a year. Seems like they're 50/50 and towing kills them all the faster. I'm going to shop around for new tires when the time comes. I bought 2 firestone m/Ts for $500 out the door. I'd think 255s would be cheaper.

Matt, that's cool! I'll have to look for it when my dad brings over the mag when he's done with it.

Andy, what did the guy say when you started your truck? Give you a funny look?

I'm sorta kinda looking for more power, but I'm getting tired of breaking stuff too. It's fun to drive like it is, and gives most things a run which is good for a few laughs and/or a thumbs up when they can't get away from it or keep up, which ever way it turns out. ;)

Treadwrights are supposed to be the hot ticket, I've heard they hold up real well for 'caps. Biggest problem with any recaps is underinflation, it gets the tires hot and then the cap blows off.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

I've had a tough time finding a 33" tire in any rim size that has a load rating higher than 2600lbs. Nittos, some toyos, and some Dick cepeks are available in that size with a 31xx lb rating. One of the guys I work with loves the Dick cepek mud countries. His last set lasted him over 62k miles with most of the driving being on roads that tear our 19.5" service truck tires to bits. I've decided on a set of 315/75/16 irok nd's for The Roo Hunter. They're load rated for 3600lb. The 33" version comes to a whopping 2600, so 35's it is

So they have been doing a bunch of work on the I75 Hopple street exit. They have completely rebuilt the overpass and redone the exits. Last night they were removing the old exit ramp over 75 south and it collapsed onto the interstate below. One man was killed and one trucker barely missed getting smashed.

Typically forward or backward, less often side ways.
