I got mine pulled two summers ago. The drugs they had me on had me hearing smells and seeing sounds

I'm still at the gauze stage, and my drugs haven't showed up yet. Apparently I'm bleeding less than expected

I wouldn't shy away from it but I won't be paying 2G's for a crispy crittered engine to do it. I'll just do the 24v 5.9 and forget about it. Less work and the same outcome.....one kickass engine.

The 82 May see it happen before long.....the 12v is ill :(

I skimmed through that thread. Had to laugh at the guy that kept saying how much better it would be to keep it common rail....and those other few that were like "ve? what's that?". If they don't know anymore than that they might as well go buy a Ford. :P

Can't say I'm overly impressed with my 24 valve. Doesn't seem to have any realistic advantage to me anyway over a 12 valve. Converting to a VE or P pump will eliminate the electrons problems and bring back that part of reliability, but also holds you back in power possibilities that only the electronic can give you. A 24 valve may have a slight advantage when it come to twins, but is it worth it? Now if only they would come up with a VE/VP hybrid. That would be interesting.

I like the 24v engines. They flow better then a 12v, run cooler and make good power. There is a reason for years guys have been P-pumping them for pulling trucks over the stock head 12v.

The design in the heads, etc..... are a tremendous amount more efficient.

The AVERAGE port/polish 12 valve head flows basically the same as the 24 vp head. The CR heads supposedly flow a lot more than the vp heads.

Now...in extreme cases (very high rpm pulling/race engines) the 12 valve head is the way to go back to. You can molest a 12 valve head a lot for the upper rpm stuff and they don't have as much failure.

Congrats David, Ill have to pick up that copy. It was all over FB yesterday and today. On another note where is the best place to get reasonable priced NV4500 parts?
