spooling HX40 with stock injectors?

Postby krazykarl454 » Mon Feb 25, 2008 8:44 pm

hey guys, im in abit of a pickle. im building an exhaust for my cummins swapped k30 chevy, and i dont want to have to do it again when i upgrade to the WH1E i have. and i dont have the money rite now for injectors. so i was thinkin about puttin the WH1E on now and buildin the 4" down pipe and and exhaust. i will have a fuel pin, 3200gsk, and intercooled. so my big question is will i be able to spool this thing ( will it be driveable), or am i just opening a can of worms? i plan on driveing this from NJ to NC quite often and probley b4 i can get injectors. All the info you can give me i would aprechiate. and what injectors would u recommend? this truck is goin to be mostly for towin another truck around and DD.

thanks alot- karl

Does your WH1E have an 18cm or 16cm housing? The 18 is gonna be real laggy but I doubt it's gonna be any worse than the stock 21 and the 16 would probably feel like the 18 stock.

usualy with stock fueling the larger compressor wheel of the hx40 makes it fell like a factory turbo with a 21cm housing unless you do some work on the pump

I've heard of 17 and 19cm housings on the HX40/H1E. They have the T4 inlet flange, though. More suqarish bolt pattern than the stock T3 pattern. There are adaptors, but they are spendy. Seems like I saw a homemade adaptor in bgilbert's shop a few weeks ago. I could be smoking crack, too.
