I just happened across it while surfing local Craigslist.
After doing some research, looks pretty easy to swap over, other than deciding whether to use the wastegate, and having some goofy intercooler piping, or tack welding it shut and clocking it to use the stock setup

I thought I had a decent one, paid $315 for it. Got it and the compressor wheel was chewed up and the wastegate opening was slightly larger than the disk that seals it. Guy was cool about it and I got my money back. Started looking at ones again, found one for $220...and not modified at all, stock take off. Good enough.

I tried clocking it 6 ways to Sunday. Ended up having a buddy weld a pipe to fit.

You have any pictures? I've been researching more, watched couple YouTube videos, etc.
If I get one, ill probably just weld the wastegate closed, since I'm not push alot of fuel

I'm going to try uploading some tomorrow.

I'm keeping the wastegate and solenoid. Thinking of getting a Raspberry Pi or Audrino mini computer. Use it to have 3 adjustable setting. I'll need 2 outputs and 6 inputs. 3 setting would be Econ, Tow, and Race. All 3 would use TPS, MAP, and speed. For Econ, it would keep a valet closed and possibly using a solenoid to open the waste gate some. Less back pressure, more efficiency off boost.

Tow would use an additional sensor, EGT. Using a variable solenoid, it would limit boost to the AFC depending on EGTs and the other sensors.

Race would be an anti slip, full power setup. Using a setup similar to aftermarket cruise, a front wheel with a magnet would read actual speed while the computer compares it to the speedometer reference. This will have a determined amount of percentage slip. If it goes beyond a certain percentage, it will slowly close the AFC off until traction is gained again. Then it'll ramp the AFC back up.

Do not EVER get rid of a FSM!

Any one have tips on cam removal and installation? I'm helping my buddy with a cracked gear case tomorrow.

Its much easier with the engine on a stand. Flip upside down so the tappets don't fall out then simply pull the cam out. It's easier if the oil pan is off so someone can hold it up to clear the lobes. :D

BC did a good writeup on DTR. It's in the sticky.

Yup, BC's thread is the shiznit, it's what I used to change mine. It's a simple job as long as you're just pulling the cam and stabbing it back in, changing the lifters is where the real pain begins.

I'll have to read the sticky. Thanks guys.

This one is on a stand so it should be easy.

Levi! Glad to see you back.

 That's an ambitious project, sounds pretty awesome if you can get it to work

One thing I hate about racing 2wd is the lack of good boosted launches. I can do 5psi on stock tires but anymore and it boils them.

You could buy a new set of slicks, a jack, and an electric impact for the price of all that turbo stuff. :P

I was joking about the stand since I figured you were working in frame. I actually just pulled my cam with the engine upside down on a stand. I had my brother supporting the far end of the cam while I pulled the gear end out.
Be sure you check the tappets for wear and replace if necessary. About half of mine were pock marked.
